How To Install Mobdro : Complete Guide To Install Mobdro On Your Devices – If you enjoy watching streams of documentaries, movies, sporting events, and TV series then Mobdro is the app for you.

Mobdro is –

a tool that constantly looks for free video streams available on the web and makes them accessible on your mobile device.

The Mobdro app was developed specifically for the Android operating system but it is not officially available from the Playstore. You have to use your Android gadget to directly get the Mobdro app on your device.

For this article, I am going to show the methods to download and install Mobdro on your devices. Though the Mobdro app was made exclusively for Android, there are ways to install Mobdro on different devices like:

How To Install Mobdro : Android Devices (Smartphones and Tablets)

First off, we’ll install the Mobdro app on your Android handheld devices like smartphones and tablets. Just follow the steps below to get the app on your gadgets.

Step 1. Make sure that “Unknown Sources” is enabled on your device. Go to “Settings”>”Security”, then scroll down until you see “Unknown Sources”. Tap the toggle to enable it.

Step 2. Visit this link using the internet browser on your Android device(s). Click the “Mobdro Download” button to start the Mobdro app download.

Step 3. Tap on the file you downloaded to begin installing Mobdro on your device.

Step 4. After installation, you will see the Mobdro “icon” on one of your screens or in the app drawer. Tap on it to start using Mobdro.

How To Install Mobdro : Android TV Boxes

The steps below will show you how to install Mobdro on your Android TV Box. Installing the app on an Android TV Box allows you to watch videos on a bigger screen. Follow the steps below to have Mobdro on your TV box in no time.

NOTE : Since Mobdro is not available from the Playstore, you cannot direct install it using your Android TV Box. You have to to download the Mobdro apk file and then “sideload” it on your TV Box to enjoy free streaming of multimedia contents.

Step 1. Connect your Android TV Box to your TV and turn on the device.

Step 2. Once on the “Home” screen, use the “Search” or scroll down to “Settings“.

Step 3. On the “Settings” screen, find the “Security & Restrictions” option. Select to open the settings.

Step 4. Enable the “Unknown Sources” to allow 3rd party app installation. Tap “OK” in the pop-up window to confirm the selection.

Step 5. Go back to the home screen and open the “Browser” app installed.

Step 6. Navigate to this link to download the latest version of the Mobdro apk. Let the download finish.

Step 7. Open the “File Manager” app and go to the “Downloads” folder. Select the Mobdro.apk file and open it to start installation.

Step 8. A prompt will appear saying “App Installed“. Choose “Open” to launch the app and enjoy free streaming of videos and other contents on your Android TV Box.

The following guide will show you how to cast Mobdro streams to your TV via Chromecast. We’ll use an Android device with Mobdro installed for the procedure.

How To Install Mobdro : Cast Mobdro Streams To Chromecast

Step 1. Connect your Chromecast to your TV via the HDMI port.

Step 2. Using your TV’s remote control, select the HDMI port where your Chromecast is connected. Once the input source is selected, you will see the Chromecast Home Screen.

Step 3. Connect your Chromecast to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 4. Visit the link on using the “Browser” on your Android device to download the Chromecast app.

Step 5. Install and open the Chromecast app on your device after downloading the file.

Step 6. On your Android device, go to the “Wi-Fi Settings” and select your Chromecast. You will see the same device on your connected TV.

Step 7. After selecting your Chromecast, open the Chromecast app on your Android device.

Step 8. Select “Setup” and follow the instructions given. Choose your country and click “OK“.

Step 9. You should now see a “code” both on your Android phone and your TV. If the code matches then choose “I see the code“.

Step 10. Select “Set Name” to give your Chromecast a name.

Step 11. Connect your Chromecast to your Wi-Fi Network by entering the password and then choose “SET NETWORK“.

Step 12. You are now all set to cast. Open the Mobdro app on your Android device and start streaming to your TV via Chromecast.

Unfortunately, Mobdro for iOS is not yet available as of this writing. You can easily install an alternative Mobdro app for your iOS device like CinemaBox, Popcorn Time or ShowBox and get the same result. How To Install Mobdro : Mobdro Addon For Kodi

Kodi is another video streaming app that can be installed on any platform. Add-ons can also be added to the Kodi app which makes it very versatile. One “must have” add-on for Kodi is Mobdro.

Follow the steps below to get Mobdro on Kodi.

Step 1. Launch the Kodi app installed on your device. Go to “Settings” then select “File Manager“.

Step 2. Click “Add Source” in the File Manager. Click “None” and the default “Browser” will open.

Step 3. Key in this URL in the Browser – http://lvtvv.com/repo/. Click on “OK“. You will be prompted to name the repository.

Step 4. Go back to the “Homescreen“. Navigate to “Settings” > “Add-Ons“.

Step 5. Choose “Install From Zip File“.

Step 6. Navigate to the “Repository” you created.

Step 7. Choose “repository.ah.zip“.

Step 8. Wait for the “Add-Ons Enabled” notification.

Step 9. Choose “Get Add-Ons“. Find the AH Add-on repository then select it.

Step 10. Click on Video Add-Ons.

Step 11. Select “Mobdro” then click “Install“.

Step 12. Wait for the installation to finish then you can launch Mobdro to enjoy free video streaming.

If you search for “best video streaming apps” you will get the top results for the most popular ones like Amazon Prime Video, HBO Go and Netflix. You must have a subscription to these providers to fully enjoy their services.

If you enjoy watching movies, TV series and other multimedia content but do not want to pay for a monthly subscription, then should check out the Mobdro app for android.

What is Mobdro?

Mobdro is a tool that constantly looks for free video streams available on the web and makes them accessible on your mobile device.

Defining Mobdro may be as short and simple as the above but that doesn’t mean it’s all the app can do. Once installed on your device, the Mobdro app does a lot more than just find and stream videos on your gadget.

Navigating The Interface

As mentioned above, the Mobdro app’s user interface is very intuitive. Videos and other contents are grouped using “rounded” icons with labels so users can easily choose which one to tap. Categories include the following :

Channels – list popular TV channels like ABC, CBS, HGTV, History Channel USA, etc…
News – includes CNBC News, CNN International, NBC News, Fox News and others
Shows – Popular TV shows/series like Family Guy, The Big Bang Theory, The Simpsons, etc…
Movies – All genres of movies like action, comedy, horror, etc…
Sports – Sport channels like ESPN, ESPN 2, Racing.com, etc…
Music – Music oriented shows like MTV and VH1 among others
Gaming – For those who enjoy games like Counter Strike, World of Warcraft, etc…
Animals – Shows everything about animals and live cams of beaches, oceans, reefs, etc…
Tech – All things tech related like NASA TV, NASA HD, live feed from the International Space Station, etc…
Podcast – Includes podcast of shows like “The Ellen Show”, “TedTalks” and other popular podcasts

Choose a “Category” for the content you want to watch and tap on the icon. After selecting a category, you can then proceed to choose the the episode/movie/stream that are available. Tapping on the content will immediately open the media and you can start watching. Its that simple.

The only downside to this is you can only watch what is currently being streamed. You can’t choose which episode to watch so you must be aware of the schedule of your favorite show when its on.

Search For Contents

If you want to search for live streams or shows, you can use the “Search” function in the upper right hand corner of the mobdro interface. Tap on the “Magnifying Glass” and type in the stream/show you are looking for.

Mobdro Setup

Tapping on the stacked three horizontal lines in the upper left hand corner will show you the screen below. On this screen you can see your “Favorites” and other activities on Mobdro.

You can quickly set up your “Favorites” by going to the the video you want to add to your “Favorites” the tap on the three dots to open the options menu and choose “Favorite”.

There are other options aside from being able to add the video to your favorites. You can also “Share“, “Download“, or “Play” the video you choose.

Selecting “Share” will enable you to choose an action/app to share the video. For instance, you can share it using your email, Facebook or Messenger, or any other application.

The “Download” option allows you to save the video to your device’s local storage while “Play” will quickly start video streaming.

Tapping on “Live” will show you a list of all the live streaming videos currently “on air”.

You can setup Mobdro using the “Settings” options. Tap on “Settings” and you get to control the following:

Player – You can enable hardware decoding (Use hardware accelerated hardware video decoding)
Updates – Enable app updates using mobile network data connection (not recommended). This may cost you money.
Content – Control what streams are shown in your “Language“. Sort streams alphabetically and set Parental Filter for safe streaming.
History – You can clear your search history here and set the app to never store your search history.

Help will take you to the “Help” screen where you can get the basic answers/instructions on what is Mobdro, how to get Mobdro and other questions. There is also a “Troubleshooting” guide included for the most common problems users usually encounter when using Mobdro for the first time. This section also shows “Permission & Data” to let users know what the app does with the personal user’s data they collect and other “Legal” stuffs.

About displays the Mobdro version installed on your device. Users can also check for new updates in this section. There is also a link to the “Help” section on this screen. This section also has a list of changes and known issues in the installed version. “Open source licenses” lists all the software used by Mobdro and the terms and conditions of use contained in the EULA (End-User License Agreement) if you decide to use Mobdro app.

Want More Mobdro Features?

There are two Mobdro versions : the Freemium and the Premium versions. The Mobdro Freemium version contains ads and lots of them. You will see these ads on the main user interface and everywhere else (like sponsored links and videos). If you don’t mind some distractions while watching videos then this Freemium version is meant for you. However, if you want to get rid of the apps then you should get the Mobdro Premium version.

NOTE : As of the writing, Mobdro has been updated to version 2.1.72 (Freemium) and there is no link to “Go Premium”. Developers are busy answering users’ questions, fixing bugs, server maintenance and updating the app.

Mobdro is a great way to watch live streaming videos, sports, TV series and more on your devices. The app may not be perfect (yet) but it offers the best viewing experience for free.
